Uniting expertise to improve services
The Innovative and Essential Care (IEC) Research Group brings together world class researchers whose work spans the development, evaluation and implementation of high quality care interventions and innovative health services.
Our work comprises three main strands:
- Continence and skin technology.
- Delivering care, self care, and patient outcomes.
- Workforce, innovation and implementation.
Areas of our research
We've developed a website containing all our research findings on continence products and devices to help people with incontinence issues find what they need more easily than before.
Our research findings were pivotal in persuading the Government to reform prescribing legislation; empowering healthcare professionals to prescribe medicines independently.
IEC studies into health workforce configuration have demonstrated the link between numbers and quality of care; informing policy at home and abroad.
