Award success for IfLS PhD student Patricia Goggin
Patricia, a PhD student jointly funded by IfLS and FEE, is working on her PhD project on a correlative light, X-ray, and electron microscopy framework for 3D bone imaging at the cell level across the lifecourse.
Throughout 2017 Patricia has won several awards including:
2017: Travel Award, International Bone Densitometry Workshop (IBDW) and 7th European Symposium on Ultrasonic Characterization of Bone (ESUCB)

2017: Winner of 2017 Science Image Competition, Tissue and Cell Engineering Society (TCES)

It is exciting and challenging to be approaching a medical problem using the tools of the engineer and mathematician. The multidisciplinary approach has the potential to produce novel insights in cell biology.
