Gard sponsors IML’s research library

Published: 18 March 2016

Gard sponsors the research library at the Institute of Maritime Law (IML) at the University of Southampton (UoS).

“We believe it is important to support learning institutions in their effort to build in-house as well as industry knowledge”, says Svein Buvik, Chief Human Resources Officer in Gard.

The marine insurer has supported the research library over the past four years as a part of their close cooperation with UoS. The funding has contributed to the library having been able to maintain its collection of relevant literature benefiting both students and staff at UoS. Gard produced material is also included in the collection.

“Supporting the University of Southampton is a part of Gard’s Corporate Social Responsibility activities”, Mr. Buvik says. “We apply our strategic objectives and the framework that guides our core business activities to our CSR policy. This is why we include knowledge sharing initiatives in our CSR efforts.”
