Event details

This one day conference will provide a timely review of the psychological and biological mechanisms involved in anxiety, and how recent scientific advances in our understanding of anxiety can inform psychological and drug treatments for anxiety. The programme highlights translational research in human anxiety and includes talks from leading academics and clinicians in UK psychiatry, clinical psychology, experimental psychology and neuroscience. The event is organised in collaboration with Anxiety UK, registered charity.

Prof Graham Davey, University of Sussex:“Mechanisms of pathological worrying: What can studies in the lab tell us about anxiety disorders”

Dr Sam Chamberlain, University of Cambridge:"Cognitive and imaging endophenotypes of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders"

Prof David Baldwin, Head of Psychiatry, University of Southampton, Chair of Anxiety Disorders Research Network, European College of Neuropsychopharmacology.

Dr Lusia Stopa, Director of Clinical Psychology, University of Southampton.

Abstracts for poster presentations should be submitted to anxt@soton.ac.uk by 11th August 2014 (word limit 300 words). In the email subject please put your name followed by the abstract title.
