We believe that innovative technology has a critical role to play in finding solutions. Working alongside our partners in business and industry, we are researching new technologies to ensure sustainability in energy consumption.

Some of our most distinctive areas of research include bioenergy and offshore renewable energy, for example our novel wave-energy converter - Anaconda and our tidal stream generator.

Our research draws on interdisciplinary strengths across the University.

The Energy research group spans across many academic schools including Art, Geography, Education, Chemistry, Biological Sciences, Electronics and Computer Sciences, Mathematics, Management and Law.
