The University of Southampton signed an agreement with Santander Universities in May 2008. As a result of this partnership we have implemented various scholarship schemes for students interested in completing a master's degree at the University of Southampton. There are also scholarships for current Southampton students to spend one or two semesters at partner institutions.
Scholarships for Iberoamerican students
Santander Universities offer 5 "Santander - University of Southampton Iberoamerican Master Scholarships" of £5,000 each for Iberian and Latin American students who are interested in studying a master's degree course at Southampton.
Students who wish to apply for one of these scholarships must:

Be a national of one of the 11 countries of the Iberian and Latin American Santander Universities network (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Portugal, Peru, Puerto Rico, Spain, Uruguay or Venezuela).

Have graduated or be studying at one of the partner universities within the Santander Universities network.

Have an offer to study a master's course at the University of Southampton.
Successful candidates will be selected on academic merit. This scholarship is compatible with any other source of funding.
Applications are now open. The deadline for applications for this scheme is 15th April 2012. Students will be notified of the outcome of their application by the 30th April 2012.

Scholarships for USA students
Santander Universities offer 2 "Santander - University of Southampton USA Master Scholarships" of up to £5,000 each for USA students who are interested in studying a master's degree course at Southampton.
Students who wish to apply for one of these scholarships must:
- Be a USA resident who will receive or has received a Bachelor's degree from a USA university.

Have an offer to study a master's course at the University of Southampton.
Successful candidates will be selected on academic merit. This scholarship is compatible with any other sources of funding.

Santander-University of Southampton Mobility Scholarships
Santander Universities offer 4 "Santander-University of Southampton Mobility Scholarships" of up to £1,000 each to University of Southampton students spending part of their degree programme abroad.
To be eligible for the scholarships, students must:
- Be a UK resident.
- Have applied for a non-Erasmus exchange programme at one of the University's partner institutions.
- The exchange must be at least one semester in length.
Successful candidates will be selected based upon a number of criteria including academic merit. The scholarship is compatible with other sources of funding.
Applications are now open. The deadline for applications for this scheme is 15th April 2012. Students will be notified of the outcome of their application by the 30th April 2012.
