What you’ll learn at the Southampton Summer School

Choose to specialise in one of our creative or entrepreneurial courses for a summer of study in England.

Get an international perspective on a subject you’re studying at home or a taste of an entirely new subject, from business to design.

You’ll get a certificate for attending classes and might be able to put credits you earn towards a university degree.

The courses you can choose to study in summer 2024

You have 4 courses to choose from at the Southampton Summer School. Gain an understanding of finance or business, music or fashion design.

You’ll get hands on experience, either gathering evidence in the field, undertaking lab analysis, presenting technical material, or developing your design practice. Some courses have field trips in the UK, others have more teaching on our campus.

Whatever summer course you choose, you’ll be taught by a leading UK university academic.

Get academic credits from your summer study

You could gain academic credits towards your home degree for the course you complete at the Southampton Summer School.

All of our courses are worth 15 Southampton credits. This is the equivalent to 3-4 US semester hours or 7.5 European Credit Transfer and Assessment System (ECTS) credits. Check with your university if credits earned at Southampton Summer School can be transferred towards your studies at home.

If you choose not to complete Southampton Summer School assessments, you could still receive a certificate of attendance. To get this, you’ll need attend at least 80% of the course.
