In the Loop: knitting, origins and evolution
Welcome to our website. We aim to be a focus for all those interested in the culture and practice of knitting whether for education, research or outreach to the local and internet community.
The conference programme for In the loop 3: the voices of knitting is starting to take shape now although we are waiting for confirmations. We also have to work carefully on the timings as it is going to be quite a packed few days. All information on our progress so far can be found on the In the Loop 3 news page.
In addition there will be a workshop on Tuesday 4 September and on Saturday 8 September both will be held at the Winchester Discovery Centre, further details will be available once the conference programme is completed and ready to go live.
In the lead up to the conference the Knitting Reference Library will be open on Tuesday 4 September 2012 at the School of Art. We are planning some displays too and the opportunity for those who arrive the day before to gather and meet in the gallery at the School.
