These pages are for staff and Postgraduate Research (PGR - doctorates, etc) who are entitled to use dedicated email clients with the University's Exchange system. Undergraduates and Postgraduate Taught (PGT - Masters, etc) are asked to use the SUSSED web portal or www.outlook.soton.ac.uk

Outlook is the preferred email client of the University for staff and PGR's. As it is part of the Microsoft 'suite' of products that the University uses it makes most use of the features and functions of the Exchange email infrastructure.

It ships with Office 2007, and is expetced to be deployed to all University-managed desktops and public workstations as part of the move to the Vista operating system from 2008. You can also tap into your University email using Outlook from home.
