TeamSite Content Management System

Interwoven TeamSite has been adopted as a University wide content management system (CMS) to support the University’s corporate web presence. The CMS service is offered jointly by iSolutions and Communications.

A CMS is a tool for preparing, organising and maintaining content for use on websites. TeamSite has a good track record for supporting mission critical web applications in major organisations.

Our CMS implementation does not provide web services to the end user. Rather it provides users with an environment in which web content can be prepared, previewed and edited in readiness for deployment to one or more web servers. This means that content on the CMS is protected from various internet threats and content can be safely developed within TeamSite without exposing it prematurely to public viewing.

Prerequisites

TeamSite is available to University staff responsible for the production of web sites relating to the University’s official business. To help ensure consistency and quality across the University website, potential CMS clients are required to complete a thorough planning exercise in consultation with Communications and iSolutions. Training on the use of the CMS is required before staff may use the system and is provided in-house.

Applying for the Service

Potential TeamSite users should contact CAMS in the first instance to discuss the website they are proposing.

Contacts and Problems

iSolutions is not normally involved in the content or presentation of a website. Any queries or issues in this area should be discussed with Communications. iSolutions undertakes to provide support for and assistance in using the TeamSite software. Any queries or problems should be addressed to the iSolutions ServiceLine.
