Self-Service Modem Logo

Self-service modem points used to provide a 56kbps speed modem access to iSolutions' V.90 dial-up service from any computer equipped with a suitable modem card or interface. This means that any university iSolutions subscribed user can plug in their own pc or laptop and login to access the internet and university network.

SERVICE DISCONTINUED as of 1st July 2009.

Alternatives

On Campus:

Refer to the On-Campus Access (Self-Service) section in stead for alternatives like Self-Service Ethernet and Self-Service Wireless.

Off Campus:

If you were still using or were looking to use this service to connect to the Internet or the university network and online resources then we suggest you now alternatively look into commercial Broadband Internet services instead via an ISP (Internet Service Provider).

Then refer to our VPN service (Virtual Private Network Connection) web pages that can instruct you on how to connect to the University network and online resources using this encrypted authentication tunnelling service.
