All laptop computers, with the exception of the netbook, are supplied with Kensington lock, bag, and optional docking station, with monitor, keyboard and mouse.

Netbook
An inexpensive but responsive laptop ideal for use ‘on the go’ for routine tasks such as email, web browsing, word processing, preparing and delivering presentations and for use with Skype with the integrated webcam. Fits easily into a bag due to its small form factor and weight.

This system (S1) is aimed at data analysis and laboratory data acquisition needs. It features Intel Core 2 Duo processor technology, 4GB RAM, a 500GB hard disk as well as full length PCI and PCIe slots for adaptability and enhanced configuration options.

This system (S2) is aimed at fast data analysis that require Quad Core processing and access to large amounts of physical memory. The basic specification includes one Intel W3520 2.66GHz processor, 12GB RAM, a 500GB hard disk, a 512MB Quadro NVIDIA FX580 graphics card, as well as full length PCI and PCIe slots for adaptability and enhanced configuration options.

Alternatives to the University ranges, for example Apple Macintosh or Linux computers, can be supplied for research or specialist needs, subject to agreement with your School or Professional Services department.
