Lightweight laptopA slim, lightweight, road ready 13" laptop similar in specification and power to the mainstream laptop, this is ideal for travelling and fieldwork and also for use back in the office.

Ultraportable laptopThe ultimate in portability without sacrificing enterprise-class features, this laptop features a 12” display and solid state hard disk and is designed for those who need to travel light and still have access to a relatively powerful computer.

All laptop computers, with the exception of the netbook, are supplied with Kensington lock, bag, and optional docking station, with monitor, keyboard and mouse.

Please note that machines in this range can cost up to more than double the mainstream equivalents so you may be asked why the mainstream models are not suitable.

Netbook

Dell Mini10v netbookAn inexpensive but responsive laptop ideal for use ‘on the go’ for routine tasks such as email, web browsing, word processing, preparing and delivering presentations and for use with Skype with the integrated webcam. Fits easily into a bag due to its small form factor and weight.

 Viglen S2 Research WorkstationThis system (S1) is aimed at data analysis and laboratory data acquisition needs. It features Intel Core 2 Duo processor technology, 4GB RAM, a 500GB hard disk as well as full length PCI and PCIe slots for adaptability and enhanced configuration options.

The basic specification includes one Intel W3520 2.66GHz processor, 12GB RAM, a 500GB hard disk, a 512MB Quadro NVIDIA FX580 graphics card, as well as full length PCI and PCIe slots for adaptability and enhanced configuration options.

Dell Precision M4400 LaptopFor mobile users who require workstation power, this laptop incorporates a high specification processor, an NVidia graphics card with 512MB dedicated memory, high capacity hard disk, 15.4” display.

Alternatives to the University ranges, for example Apple Macintosh or Linux computers, can be supplied for research or specialist needs, subject to agreement with your School or Professional Services department.
