Blackboard
Blackboard is an on-line virtual learning environment for students in which tutors can place course elements on-line without any prior knowledge of making Web pages. It provides tools for:

- Formative assessment
- Personal information management
- Academic Web resources
Computer Aided Assessment (CAA)
CAA is 'the use of computers in the assessment of student learning', in which computers accept students' answers to tests, store them and then mark them. The University runs a large centralised CAA system (Questionmark™ Perception™ ) which can be used for high-stakes exams as well as formative diagnostic quizzes.
Media and Design
iSolutions has a media and design group specialising in producing e-learning resources - CDs, DVDs, streamed videos, as well as design for print.
