CD writing
CD and DVD writers are located in many of the PC workstation areas and allow you to save large amounts of data, files and images to writable CD and DVD disks. We recommend that you use this to create additional backup when saving your work.
The CD and DVD writer drives look like ordinary CD-ROM drives. In some workstation areas they may be installed in all the PCs in the room while in others they are only installed in the PCs attached to scanners.
The CD and DVD writers are intended for the creation of disks for the following purposes:
- To store large data files such as images which are too large to fit on floppy or zip disks.
- To store large downloaded software items from the iSolutions Software Distribution Service.
Please note that data should be copied only in accordance with the University's rules and guidelines and that the unauthorised copying of music and software is a breach of copyright and is therefore prohibited.
