PCs – logging on and off

All PCs in public workstation areas require you to log on to gain access to the services and applications provided. If the initial log-on screen is not showing, hold the Ctrl and Alt keys down and press the Del key. Enter your username and password in the log-on window. After a short time, you should see the Windows desktop appear, from which you can select the programs you wish to run.

Remember that your username and password are for your use only and you should not allow anyone else to log on using your account.

It's important to log off from a PC workstation after using it to ensure that no one can misuse your account. You log off by clicking on the Logoff shortcut icon on the desktop. Once you log off, the PC workstation is 'refreshed' to get it ready for the next person to use it, so make sure you have saved your work to My Documents and/or your own disk before logging off.
