Student instructions for web payments

This facility is for students only, not for staff, as staff use of the print/copy system is charged to the department they belong to.

These pages will allow you to add credit to your student print/copy account using a debit or credit card. The minimum deposit amount is £4 and the maximum deposit amount is £25.

A Word document with these instructions, including screenshots, is available under Useful downloads: 'Student instructions for web payment'.

Step 1 - connecting to expresspay initial screen

To add credit to your print/copy account using web payments, go to the following link:

and Click the Pay button.

Tick the box to confirm that you accept and understand the terms and conditions.

Step 5 - Secure site for card details

You will then be transferred to the secure site to enter your card details, email address, and a contact address.

Step 6 - Confirmation screen

After completing mandatory fields indicated by a red asterisk, Click on the Proceed button.
Next, you will see the confirmation screen. Review the information, and click on the "Process Payment" button if you wish to complete the transaction.

Added security when paying online

To increase the security of Internet transactions, the University (in association with Visa and Mastercard) has introduced an extra layer of security when making online payments.

Depending on the card you have chosen to use, when you click ‘Submit Payment’ you may be asked by your card issuer for an additional password.

If you have already used the same card for online purchases and used this type of facility, you need to use the same password as you have in the past.

If you have not yet used this facility, you will be directed to another website in order to create your own password which can be used for all future purchases using that particular credit/debit card.

We sincerely hope that, with this added layer of security, you will feel more comfortable in the use of our online payment system. The change will be effective from 22nd July 2010.

Step 7 - 'Payment Process: Complete' screen

You will be transferred to the "Payment Process: Complete" screen. You will also receive a confirmation email sent to the email address you specified when giving your contact details. This email will contain a unique transaction reference number, the transaction receipt number and the amount of payment.

Your Equitrac balance will be updated immediately, but in order to see your balance updated on the web payment web pages, you will need to log out and then back in for the system to update the balance display.

Alternatively, you can use the following link to check your Equitrac balance:
