About our regulations
Why is use of University IT resources regulated?
The University is limited in the resources it can provide to support its community. It has to ensure that those resources are available when needed, to those who are entitled to use them and for the purposes that they are provided for. The University also seeks too ensure that their use does not present an unreasonable risk to the users, the University and others.
For this to happen access to information services and resources provided by the University has to be controlled. The regulations, polices, and other controls are in place to help achieve this.
Misuse or abuse of services
Anyone aware of misuse or abuse of our services or breaches of regulations, by our users or others, should report it via the iSolutions serviceline. This can be done confidentially. Misuse will be investigated and access to services may be temporarily suspended during investigation. Where a breach of regulations involving a member of the University has occurred then this may lead to disciplinary action by the relevant Head of School or Service in accordance with the University regulations. For those who are not members of the University access to services may be withdrawn.
