Software Media in University Libraries

Photo of software CDsiSolutions ( iSolutions. has negotiated site licenses with some suppliers. Site licensed software may be installed and used by all members of the University. This software is distributed through central installation on University Desktop Environment (UDE) workstations in the office and in public workstation areas and through internet download from the Software Download Web Site.

Some users do not have access to the internet, so the following software is available on CD from the Library Loan Collections in Hartley, General Hospital other sections of the University Library. Items are for Microsoft Windows, unless otherwise stated:

  • Corel DRAW X3 graphics suite (staff and research PG only)
  • Corel Graphics Suite 12 (staff and research PG only)
  • Corel WordPerfect office 12 (staff and research PG only)
  • Microsoft Office XP Pro (staff and research PG only)
  • Microsoft Office 10 for Mac (staff and research PG only)
  • Microsoft Office 2003 Pro (staff and research PG only)
  • Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac Professional Edition (staff and research PG only)
  • Microsoft Windows Upgrade 95/98/ME/2000 : Win XP Pro (university owned PCs only)
  • S-Plus
  • SAS
  • SPSS v. 15.0 & SPSS data entry v. 3.0

Please note:

  1. Microsoft products may be downloaded, borrowed and installed by members of staff and research postgraduates for use only on university owned system. A copy may be installed upon home machines to undertake University/non-commercial work.
  2. Corel products may be downloaded, borrowed and installed by members of staff and research postgraduates only for use on university owned system. Additionally staff may install the products on their personal home machines to undertake University/non-commercial work.
  3. The Microsoft Windows upgrade is as above except the license does not cover use on personally owned computers.
