The application process

We aim to make applying for a job here as easy and as flexible as possible. Vacancies are displayed on our website, placed in relevant publications and displayed on other websites eg

Ways to apply

For speed and convenience, our application system is web-based:

I want to apply online – you can search for a specific job or browse all job vacancies and complete our online application form.

I want to apply after seeing a job advertised in the pressapply online by searching for the job you wish to apply for.

I want to apply after seeing a job advertised on an external website - usually a link to our jobs website will be provided; otherwise search for the specific job or browse all job vacancies.

What happens next?

This may vary slightly between Schools and Departments though we would usually expect to interview within 4 weeks of the close date. If you are called for interview, we will normally give you at least two weeks notice of the date. In many cases, the interview date is included in the job advert.

Want to know more about the job?

In many cases, we provide an informal contact for the post so that candidates can find out more about the job, the Department or School and the University. It is important that you are happy with the job and us as an organisation, so we advise you to take every opportunity to find out more.

Our mission is to be in the top 10 Universities by 2010 and in order to achieve this, the staff we recruit must be of the highest calibre.
