LATEU maintains several mailing lists that you can subscribe to:
learningandteaching-info
This is a low-volume mailing list used to distribute details of local events and funding opportunities. It should be 'information only' - so for example you could use it to announce details of forthcoming staff development seminars organised by your School, provided they are open to colleagues from other Schools.
learningandteaching-discussion
Use this mailing list to discuss issues related to learning and teaching. It is usually low-volume but has occassional bursts of high activity.
secondlife-info
This mailing list is used by colleagues across the University who are interested in using the Second Life virtual world for education.
How to subscribe
Send an email to majordomo@lists.soton.ac.uk with the following command (only) as the body of the message:
subscribe listname
e.g. subscribe learningandteaching-info
Make sure you do not include ANY other text in your message (e.g. your signature or contact details etc.)
