Getting Started in Teaching: Teaching Toolkit

This session offers an introduction to the basic concepts and practices of learning and teaching in Higher Education. The workshop includes presentations from the tutor and group based activities. By the end of this session, participants will have the basic tools needed to get started in teaching. These include being able to:

  • Write acceptable Learning Outcomes
  • Plan a Scheme of Work
  • Plan a session
  • Match appropriate learning activities to domains
  • Identify appropriate assessment activities
  • Evaluate a course

Level 1: for staff who are relatively new to teaching.
