Session Design
This half-day workshop aims to provide support for any staff involved in designing teaching sessions, lectures small group teaching, tutorials or practicals The workshop includes presentations from the tutor and group based activities After the session participants should be able to:
- Consider the main elements of the session design process, including choice of teaching and learning methods, resources and organisation of content
- Explore practical approaches to session planning and delivery
- Explore strategies for dealing with difficult situations
Level 1: for new teaching staff or postgraduate research students.
Ideally new staff will have already attended an introductory session prior to this course e.g. ‘An Introduction to Learning and Teaching’, ‘What is Good in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education?’ or PCAP sessions.
