My highlights have been the opportunity to attend seminars and engage in legal discussions with other like-minded students and the chance to immerse myself in the knowledge of some of the UK's leading law experts.

Southampton has a brilliant reputation for law, and teaching in general with some of the UK leading experts being based here. In addition to this, its research reputation is second to none. Therefore as a student it was the obvious choice as if offered an unrivalled learning experience. Moreover I was also hugely impressed by how progressive the university is in terms of facilities and in particular disabled access, which was paramount to me as a wheelchair user.

In addition, I chose Southampton because I was aware of its great night life and social scene.

With regards to the academic side, the highlights have been the opportunity to attend seminars and engage in legal discussions with other likeminded students. The chance to immerse myself in the knowledge of some of the UK's leading law experts.

Outside of the academic side of things, the highlights have been the social side of university, everything from joining the sports teams and going on all the socials, to meeting people from all over the world. My course offers so much variety in terms of the modules available to study, which really helped me in terms of picking the area of law I want to specialise in. Aside from this my favourite part about my course are the people on it, from the new friends I have made, to the lectures who have taught me.

I have entered various mooting competitions, in order to improve my advocacy and communication skills, but also to get more involved within the law school. These activities have allowed me to develop into a more confident person by teaching me to express my views in clear and concise ways, a skill which is transferable and extremely valuable outside of my degree.

In terms of extracurricular activities, during my time at university I have gotten involved with the basketball team, which has given me a chance to meet some great people and once again aided my person development by making me more confident and outgoing.

Southampton is a brilliant place to study. The academic facilities here at the university such as the library and seminar rooms are excellent, which provides an impeccable working environment. Moreover it is a great place to be at university because of how good the social side and night life are.
