Living, studying and working in Southampton has been a fulfilling and rewarding experience.

I spent almost six years at the University of Southampton School of Law, first as a PhD student and then as a tutor. I completed a doctoral degree in the area of competition and IP laws, under the supervision and the guidance of academics whose expertise was pivotal to achieve my research goals. The School of Law also allowed me to gain experience in teaching to its undergraduate students, which is a crucial step for those willing to pursue an academic career. It further supported my application to spend periods of research in the United States, with the financial aid of an international higher education and research network which the University belongs to. All this eventually led to the following steps, a research fellowship offered by the National University of Singapore (NUS) and the publication of the outcome of my research activities 'Intellectual Property Rights and competition in Standard Setting' (Routledge, 2015). Overall, living, studying and working in Southampton has been a fulfilling and rewarding experience, which gave me the opportunity to explore my research interests in an international and multicultural environment.
