Recognition for leading ILAWS member

Professor Sylvia Kierkegaard

Professor Sylvia Kierkegaard, a specialist in cyber security and President of the International Association of IT Lawyers (IAITL) at the University of Southampton’s Institute for Law and the Web (ILAWS) has been included in a prestigious directory of researchers working in areas with the potential to contribute to UK and European policymaking.

The LSE Media Policy Project, run by the London School of Economics is a resource for policymakers and stakeholders as well as journalists.

“This is well deserved recognition for Sylvia’s achievements in IT and telecoms law,” says Professor Steve Saxby of ILAWS.

Sylvia’s areas of expertise include computer law, information security, intellectual property law, e-health and regulation of online child exploitation and she holds senior positions on many international boards and councils and organises a major annual international conference www.lspi.net for IT lawyers through her role at IAITL.
