Computer Law and Security Review - A world leader in its field
CLSR, edited for the past 31 years by Professor Steve Saxby of the Institute for Law and the Web has become the first technology law journal in the world to be indexed in the latest edition of Thomson Reuters Journal Citation Reports® Social Sciences Edition.
The 2015 release comes in two editions, for Science and Social Science, and contains citation data from over 10,500 journals, representing over 2,500 publishers worldwide in over 230 disciplines. The JCR is recognised as the world’s most influential resource for evaluating peer-reviewed publications drawn from virtually all specialties in the areas of science, technology, and social sciences.
Commenting, Steve remarked: “This is a proud moment for Computer Law and Security Review which I co-founded in 1985. Globally, to date, only 143 law journals have ever been selected for indexing in the JCR and only 20 or so of these are UK based publications. CLSR now stands with its own Journal Impact Factor alongside other internationally respected journals such as Cambridge Law Journal, Oxford Journal of Legal Studies, Modern Law Review and European Law Review. It has truly come of age.”
He added: “Society today is inextricably connected to the online world. The news these days is full of talk about controversial issues concerning the need for digital regulation, protection of data and the nature of our privacy expectations. The inclusion of CLSR in the JCR is testament to the vital academic importance of this field of information technology law in today’s world.”
