Southampton Law School discuss Brexit implications on property Law at Conference in Tarragona: Tenlaw – One Year After

Prof Peter Sparkes and Mark Jordan attended a Conference at Tarragona in Catalonia on September 29th-30th on the theme Tenlaw – One Year After.

Peter presented on the implications of BrExit for Property Law and Mark Jordan on shortholds as an extreme solution to landlord and tenant relations on the fringes of Europe.

Peter and Mark also presented at an EU funded seminar on the Implementation of the Mortgage Credit Directive in the fringe European states most affected by the Credit Crunch. Mark presented a report on transposition in Ireland and Peter presented a summary of the Scope of the Directive and the problems that the lack of clarity in the scope was presenting for transposition in many states. Prof Sarah Nield is writing a report on transposition in the United Kingdom.

On December 8th Peter is presenting on the implications of Blockchain Technology for Cross Border Transactions with Land at a seminar organised by the World Bank on Law Justice and Development at the World Bank building in Washington DC.
