Dr Micheál Ó Floinn gives lecture at Law Commission

Cyber Security lecturer invited to speak at Law Commission in March

Dr Micheál Ó Floinn, lecturer in Cyber Security law, was invited to the Law Commission to discuss his research on cryptocurrencies, blockchain, and other distributed ledger technologies. His lecture explained the tech, its utility, as well as the challenges and opportunities for legal regulation.

The Law Commission is considering a number of potential areas of law reform as part of its 13th programme and Micheál highlighted possible areas within these emerging technologies which the Law Commission could consider for future projects. The lecture was attended by all Law Commissioners, the Chief Executive, as well as a number of other Law Commission staff.
