Dr Benedi Lahuerta awarded funding for EU equality law research project

Published: 30 March 2017

Dr Sara Benedi Lahuerta has been awarded £15,000 for her impact project "Rethinking EU Equality Law: Towards a More Coherent and Sustainable Regime", co-organised with Dr Ania Zbyszewska (Warwick Law School). The project has been supported by the Economic and Social Research Council Impact Acceleration Accounts (ESRC IAA) at Southampton and Warwick, Warwick's Institute of Advanced Study, and the Society of Legal Scholars (SLS). Through a pair of seminars, the project seeks to stimulate dialogue on the future of EU equality law among EU policymakers, law enforcers, civil-society organisations, as well as other academics and to create a wider ‘critical mass’ that can build momentum to persuade policymakers to implement the proposed policy changes. The first seminar, "Setting the Scene", will be held on the 19th of May 2017 at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, in London.
