I have thoroughly enjoyed my University experience, my highlights of studying Law here are the day I visited Winchester Court on what turned out to be a very dramatic and exciting case.

On attending many open days, there were only two Universities that appealed to me. Southampton felt very welcoming, with a lovely campus and enthusiastic academic staff. It was then the outstanding reputation of the University, and law school, that confirmed my choice.

Also, taking part in the Streetlaw project, which although took a lot of effort, was so worth it when the school we presented to were so grateful.

I have taken up several opportunities whilst studying here – being a part of the Cake Decorating society as well as taking part in projects such as Streetlaw and the Business Innovation Programme. They have improved my team working skills, innovation and the ability to balance studies with other commitments.

I enjoy the independence of learning mostly in my own time. I have also enjoyed the employability fortnight in second year, and the chance to choose optional modules this year.

I took part in the Business Innovation Programme last term (consulting for a local business) which has thoroughly enhanced my experience and given me a great insight to what I might be doing after University.

Southampton is a fantastic place to study. The campus is beautiful, there is a modern 24 hour library that is comfortable to work long hours in. I particularly like that the campus is all in one place.

My advice is to work hard but, also, enjoy life in Southampton. University is a unique experience to start a new life almost. To make new friends, study a subject you are passionate about and set yourself up to succeed in a future career.
