Can I borrow books for longer?

Generally speaking, you can borrow books for longer than the orginal stamped date by renewing them yourself using the catalogue.

There are two exceptions to this rule:

  1. Reserve Collection items cannot be renewed
  2. Items that have holds placed on them by another reader must be brought back by the recall date, and you cannot renew them

Renewing a book is quite simple - login to WebCat with your University Username and Password (or library card number and PIN), then go to the My Account option on the catalogue and you will be able to renew the book(s) of your choice.

You will be able to renew a book ten times before it must be returned.
