Periodicals

Periodicals, also known as journals, are published on a regular basis and are therefore a valuable source of up to date information and current developments in a subject area. As well as being published in print, many are additionally or exclusively available online.

Where can I find a periodical?

We list all periodical titles for which we have a subscription on Webcat, with print subscriptions listed separately to electronic ones. Use Webcat if you know that you want to visit the library to look at a printed copy.

An increasing number of printed journals are being transferred to an off-site storage facility.  You will find a note on the catalogue record that indicates if all or part of a title has been transferred.

Records for electronic subscriptions on Webcat will provide an electronic access link, but will also refer you to our TDNet A-Z list of e-journals for fuller information. Use TDNet first if you know that you want to read an electronic version. Our print subscriptions are indicated on TDNet by small checkboxes in the ‘Print holdings’ column. Click on one of these to consult the full record on Webcat.

If you cannot find the journal you are looking for or have any other enquiry regarding the periodical collection, please ask at the enquiry desk.
