Archives & Special Collections
Archives are located within the Hartley Library, but form a self-contained section in their own right. The Archives contain a number of leading research collections including the Wellington Papers and a world-renowned collection of Jewish material.
The Avenue Library contains primarily Course Collection material to support the Faculty of Humanities.
In addition, there is an audio visual room which houses a significant film collection in both DVD and video formats. There are a number of bookable DVD/video stations on which they can be viewed.
The Hartley Library is the largest site and supports all the courses based on the Highfield Campus.
Health Services Library
The Health Services Library is located on Level A of the the South Academic Block at Southampton General Hospital. It supports academic staff and students based at the hospital and also provides library and information services to NHS staff.
National Oceanographic Library
Based at the National Oceanography Centre, Southampton, the National Oceanographic Library is not only a site of the University Library, but also - as its name suggests - a leading research library in the World's oceanographic community.
Winchester School of Art Library
This site supports all the arts courses based at the Winchester campus, from textiles to design and fashion.
The library has a wide range of materials, including books, periodicals, videos and design magazines.
