Handling old and fragile bound textsThe management and staff offer a complete service and are to happy to advise clients on their digitisation requirements.

The Library Digitisation Unit was launched in May 2010 and incorporates the well established BOPCRIS Digitisation Unit. 

An integrated workflow is utilised to ensure high standards of quality control for all materials digitised.

  • Hand scanning of fragile single sheet materials
  • Capture from bound volumes without destroying the binding
  • High volume scanning of single/double sided unbound A4 sheets

Digital Image outputDigitising delicate pamphlet material 

  • Black and white, grey and colour (1-bit, 8-bit, 24-bit colour depth)
  • True resolution output 200-600 dots per inch (dpi)
  • Output formats include TIFF, JPG, searchable PDF
  • Abbyy is used for ocr of printed texts, including specialist fonts and foreign languages
