NetLibrary access to electronic books

The Library has subscribed to 93 course reading list titles via NetLibrary, which is an internationally known platform for delivering electronic books. These 93 electronic books mainly cover the areas of medicine, health, nursing, social and biological sciences. As a result of this subscription, we also get free access to a further 3,400 publicly accessible electronic books in all subject areas.

This, taken from the 'Help' is basically how it works:

When you select a title to view, the online reader that includes navigation tools opens. The full-text and a navigation bar, display in the right-hand frame of the online reader, with contents & search functionality on the left.

"View this eBook" opens the full-text eContent in the online reader without requiring you to login. You actively view the eContent (turning pages, searching within the full text, etc.) in 15-minute increments. If you are not actively viewing the eContent, it returns to the library for someone else to view.

"Checkout for 2 Hours" checks out the full-text eContent title to your account (use Athens to login) and allows you to exclusively view the title for that defined period of time.

Full records for our selected books will soon be available on WebCat, so that you can search for them in the usual way, alongside our printed books.
