Scopus release their citation tracker

The Scopus Citation Tracker provides users with a simple way to investigate citation behaviour from a number of different angles. Some citation analysis is already possible in Scopus using the ‘cited by’ feature on the results page of a general search query. However, the Scopus Citation Tracker further enhances this functionality, for example by enabling citations to be viewed year on year.

When used in conjunction with detailed search queries the Scopus Citation Tracker gives users a powerful way in which to explore citation information. Whether you want to measure how relevant an article is today (citations this year) or how relevant it has been in the past, or if you just want to view the citations your article has received this year, the Scopus Citation Tracker will give you the means to do so quickly and easily.

The Scopus Citation Tracker supports the key tasks for which researchers use citation data:

  • Finding the most highly cited author in a field and evaluating that author’s relevance
  • Tracking hot topics in a particular subject area
  • Identifying and evaluating research trends visually, and fast
