Installation of automatic doors at BSL

The Biomedical Sciences Library will be having automatic doors fitted during the Christmas vacation. The work will take place on Monday 18 & Tuesday 19 December, and the entrance to the Library will be out of use on these days.

On these days there will be an alternative entrance in operation, via level three of the new build, however the Library will close at 17:00.

Security

Since there is no security system in place at this temporary entrance, we will be operating a bag-checking system for everyone leaving the Library. It is important to understand that if you come into the Biomedical Sciences Library on those days, you are consenting to the bag-check on your departure.

If you do not wish to have your bag checked, you may leave it with the member of Library staff at the security desk when you enter the Library. It will be returned to you when you leave.

Opening hours

The opening hours of the Biomedical Sciences Library will also be reduced on those two days: the Library will close at 17:00 instead of 22:00. Standard vacation hours will, however, be restored for the rest of the week.
