The Independence of India and Pakistan, 1947

"The Independence of India and Pakistan, 1947", which marks the sixtieth anniversary of this historic event, is the new exhibition at the Special Collections Gallery, Level 4, Hartley Library.

The Gallery is open Monday - Friday, 10:00-16:00. The exhibition offers a fascinating perspective on the transfer of power from the British Raj to the newly-created states of India and Pakistan in 1947.

The exhibition runs until 22 June, is open for the University Open Day on 26 June, and has a second and final run from 16 to 27 July.
