Hartley level 5 reopens: updated

Most of the Hartley Library's level 5 reopened this lunchtime (15 May 2007), following a final inspection of the refurbishment work.

The group study rooms are now available, as are most of the study spaces on the floor. Books covered by the fetching service at the north end of level 5 are now freely available however books at the south end are not - the fetching service will, therefore, continue to operate for the next few days, until this area is returned to service.

Also, the hub room has yet to be completed so, for the moment, there is no computer access from desks and no wireless network.

Update: 18 May 2007

Most of the outstanding work has been completed - everything should be finished within the next few days, however we can report:

  • All books are now available, and therefore...
  • The fetching service is no longer in operation.
  • The main staircase has reopened.
  • Powerpoints for laptops are available (but not the network points at the moment).
