Hartley Library is now open for 24 hours

The Hartley Library is beginning a new period of 24 hour opening.

The Hartley Library will begin operating 24 hours a day from Monday 2 November and will continue this across the academic year.

This is the third year that the Hartley Library has piloted 24 hour opening hours, following a campaign by the Students’ Union in 2013.

The planned weeks of overnight opening this year starts in semester 1 from Monday 2 November until the Christmas break and will resume from Saturday 2 January to Friday 3 June 2016, with a break for Easter.

We are also pleased to report that additional funding has been used to extend opening between Christmas and New Year: we will be opening the Hartley Library from Tuesday 29 – Thursday 31 December 2015.

The Students’ Union held a referendum on 30 October which confirmed that the majority of students welcome the continuation of 24 hour opening at the Hartley Library. This information will be used in planning opening hours from 2016/17.
