Library services

All members of the University are registered with the Library. Others may also be eligible, e.g. other university students, via the SCONUL Access Scheme.

We have a number of enquiry points, plus phone numbers and emails.

If you need a book or an article that we don't hold as part of our own stock, we'll endeavour to find a copy elsewhere.

We have a number of rooms and areas available for study. (This page mostly covers facilities at Hartley Library at present).

Photocopying services in the Library are handled by the University Printing and Copying Service which is managed by iSolutions.

How to borrow and return books, plus the many self service options available.

This contains stock in the highest demand such as course books, articles and lecture notes.

Open to staff and research postgraduates, book an appointment with a librarian either in the Library or at your desk.

The Unit offers a range of digitisation services for the University and external clients.

University of Southampton theses published between April 1952 and September 2008 are provided on a non-returnable CD-ROM from early July 2009. Theses after this date are available from e-Prints soton.
