Guide for new students to iSolutions workstations
iSolutions public workstations enable you to access email, the Internet, and a host of other useful facilities, including word processing and spreadsheet software. In addition, all sites have workstations which you can use to access eresources via the Internet.
Are there computers in the Library?
The Hartley and Health Services Libraries have iSolutions public workstation clusters; from here University staff and students will be able to access email, the Internet, and a host of other useful facilities, such as word processing and spreadsheet software.
In addition, most sites have Workstation terminals, which you can use to access information resources, such as useful databases and the Internet. To use either you will need to login with your University username and password.
How do I register to use the University computers?
Only users who have "subscribed" via iSolutions can use our facilities, because we have an obligation to keep our systems secure and to keep records of who uses them.
For these reasons you can't just sit down at a computer and go - you have to enter your username and password first.
The web-based subscribe registration program is simple to use and will enable you to use University computers.
Where are the iSolutions workstations?
You will find iSolutions workstations on all five campus sites, as well as the Halls of Residence and other hospital teaching centres.
For more details see the full list of all iSolutions public workstations.
Who sorts out computer problems?
If you are having problems with any computer in the Library (whether in a workstation room or on the library floors), please contact iSolutions ServiceLine by phone 023 80 595656 (x 25656) or by email through ServiceLine OnLine. If you notify Library staff, they will report the fault to ServiceLine but are not usually able to rectify computer or network problems themselves.
