SCONUL Vacation Access Scheme
Under the terms of the SCONUL Vacation Access Scheme, students from other higher education institutions in the UK and Ireland whose libraries are members of the Society of College, National and University Libraries (SCONUL) may have access to the University of Southampton Libraries during the University's vacations.
Students from other institutions funded by the HE Funding Council may also have access on a trial basis for one year.
Borrowing privileges and access to electronic databases are not included in this scheme.
Other information useful to non-university users of the Library can be found on our external borrowers web page.
Vacation dates of the current and next academic years are published in the University's Almanac.
The University library's collections are held at 5 sites, with varying opening hours and access arrangements, so it is best to check before visiting.
We also have some accessibility information for users with disabilities.
Our catalogue, WebCat, is available online.
As loans are not part of the access scheme you may be interested setting up a guest account to use our photocopying service.
Student Union or Registration Cards should be carried as they may be requested to guarantee access.
All readers are reminded that they must observe the Library regulations and safety instructions.
