Alasdair Marshall joined the Southampton Management School as Lecturer in Risk Management in September 2008. Both his MA (Hons) degree and Ph.D are in Social Science, from the University of Glasgow. Between 2003 and 2008, Alasdair worked at Glasgow Caledonian University, where he contributed to Risk Management teaching within Caledonian Business School and was involved in a broad range of research and consultancy projects within the Cullen Centre for Risk and Governance.

Work in progress

Dr Marshall is currently developing a research article and book chapter which considers the theme of long-termism within risk management. He is also interested in how national and local politicians approach risk and uncertainty, and is currently researching elected member involvement in risk and uncertainty management within UK local authorities.
