Third year BSc Management with Entrepreneurship student Nick Wake has visited Kenya as part of his work with the student society Enactus to see for himself how money raised at Southampton is making a difference in Africa. The students link with non-governmental organisations (NGOs) on the ground for the Right Light project which encourages people in rural villages to use solar powered lights instead of kerosene and paraffin lamps which harm health.

The achievements of talented postgraduate students in Management and Mathematics who spent a summer working in industry have been recognised at a ceremony at the University of Southampton. Nine have won awards for their successful three month projects at their end of their masters degrees in Operational Research (OR) or Business Analytics and Management Sciences (BAMS).
