School of Mathematics
The School of Mathematics has one of the broadest communities of mathematicians in the UK, spanning pure and applied mathematics, statistics and operational research.
Our dynamic culture of intellectual enquiry is devoted to the development, understanding and communication of mathematics at the highest international level. The School is heavily involved in internationally recognised inderdisciplinary research with collaborators in engineering, physical and biological sciences, and social sciences. Our research outputs and postgraduates are highly sought after by academica, business, industries, NGOs and government.
Our Graduate School in Mathematical Studies has over 130 students following Certificate/Diploma/MSc courses in Statistics or Operational Research or pursuing research leading to MPhil or PhD degrees in a wide range of mathematical fields.
