Published: 4 December 2013

A former Southampton Management School student, who now works at Deloitte has presented prizes for achievement to two current undergraduates. Muhammad Jawad Bhatti (BSc Maths and Actuarial Science) received the Accounting Prize; Richard Sangster, (BSc Management Sciences) took the Management Prize.

Chris Rogers, a BSc Accounting and Finance alumnus, presented the 2013 awards at the Deloitte offices in Southampton. He won the Deloitte Management and Avens prizes himself during his studies at the University.

The Deloitte Management Prize is awarded to the Management School undergraduate who has demonstrated outstanding performance in the second year. The Accounting Prize is awarded to the second year student who has demonstrated outstanding performance in the MANG2014 module, Accounting and Finance for Non-Specialists.

Senior Teaching Fellow Carol Masters accompanied the students to a ceremony at Deloitte in Southampton and lunch at a city restaurant with Chris and Deloitte partner Graham Atkins. "We value our links with Deloitte as they give our students a further incentive to work hard during their studies," she says. "Their generosity and interest in our students is very much appreciated."

The students were presented with a cheque and certificate and were given a skills session on application and interview techniques.
