Event details

Abstract: The classification of groups of prime-power order (p-groups) is known to be a wild and difficult project. The classical approach towards this is the classification by order. The talk discusses this briefly and shows that this is limited to groups of small order. Then the talk introduces the coclass of a finite p-group, gives an introduction to the classification of p-groups by coclass and exhibits the state of the art in this classification project.
