Dr Aradhana Ingley, an SAS doctor in the Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board, and a paediatrician in Ysbty Glan Clwyd, has received Wales Deanery's the 'Best Trainers of the Year Award', for her dedicated work to training the next generation of medical professionals in Wales.

Dr Ingley was one of four in Wales recognised for their invaluable contribution of training junior doctors and medical students for their future professions across Wales.
All Welsh doctors and dentists in training were asked to nominate a consultant, GP, dentist, or staff and associate speciality grade doctor, who they believed performed outstandingly.
Dr Aradhana Ingley completed her MD in Paediatrics in India in the year 1992, and later joined Glan Clwyd Hospital Paediatrics department as a trainee in 1996, becoming a Staffgrade in 1997 and an Associate Specialist in 2003. During which time she gained her MRCPCH in 1999.

Last year Dr Ingley completed MSc in Allergy at Southampton University, following her special interests in Allergy, Respiratory Medicine, and Neonatology. Dr Ingley is now actively involved in the teaching and training of junior doctors and medical students, with special interest in simulation training, as an education supervisor, appraiser, and instructor on Neonatal life support, advanced paediatric support and Safeguarding Children Courses.

Professor Derek Gallen, Postgraduate Dean at the Wales Deanery said: "Wales's medical and dental educational supervisors and trainers play a vital role in delivering high quality training for our doctors and dentists entering the profession and encouraging more trainees to look to Wales to work and live. This award goes some way to recognising their very important and influential role.

Dr Ingley said: "I am privileged and very honoured to have been awarded the Welsh Deanery BEST/BSAS Award for 2013.I was humbled to learn of my nomination in the Clinical Service & Innovation Category." She added: "It is indeed heartwarming to be recognised for one's hard work. I would like to thank my colleagues for their support and faith in me."

Dr Judith Holloway PhD, SFHEA, Programme Leader of MSc Allergy at Southampton commented: "Aradhana completed her MSc Allergy last year, and was an excellent student. It is always an honour to be recognised by colleagues for outstanding work, and knowing Aradhana during her time studying in Southampton, she is totally deserving of this recognition and award. I am so proud of her."
