Event details

‘Self-defence lessons from the liver’ Tea and coffee from 4.45pm, lecture followed by wine and canapés

From viral hepatitis to liver cancer, the immune system is critical in maintaining liver health. Understanding this relationship has enabled us to develop new models of immunity that encompass both the innate and adaptive immune systems. The study of liver disease has thus given us novel insights into topics ranging from evolution and human genetic diversity, to the molecular interactions of cells with pathogens and ultimately, how we clear viral hepatitis.
